Public data notice
Last updated 27 September 2026
This notice is for people whose publicly available information may appear in answers from SocialEavesdrop. It explains what data is involved, where it comes from, and how to have yours excluded.
What we handle
Only public information, in the form any visitor to the platform could see it: public profile fields, public posts and comments, public engagement counts, and public business listings, products, reviews and app-store entries. We do not return private accounts, private posts or direct messages, and we never ask for or use anyone's platform login.
Where it comes from
We do not scrape social platforms ourselves. Data is retrieved when a customer makes a request, through third-party data providers or through the platforms' own official APIs.
How long we keep it
We keep no archive of platform data. Answers live in a short cache, from one minute to thirty days depending on the kind of data, so that identical requests do not go back to the source twice.
How customers may use it
Our acceptable use policy forbids monitoring or profiling individual people, facial recognition, inferring sensitive characteristics, and building contact lists for unsolicited messages.
Excluding your content
You can ask us to stop returning a profile or an item, or to tell you what a request would return about it. Send the platform and the link or username through the contact page, choosing "Data removal request". Once accepted, it goes on an exclusion list that is checked before every answer we give, for every customer. You may also complain to your data-protection authority.
